Burgas Lighthouse - Sea Symbol of Burgas

The Burgas Lighthouse in the Port Complex is a historic sea symbol located at the end of the port's eastern breakwater.
The Burgas Lighthouse is one of the city's symbols and is located in the Port Complex, at the end of the eastern breakwater. The historic lighthouse is linked to the development of Burgas as an important Black Sea port and continues to be a recognizable part of the urban landscape. The lighthouse was lit in 1899 and is the first Bulgarian port lighthouse. Together with the two entrance lights, it is maintained by the State Enterprise "Port Infrastructure". Of particular interest is the bas-relief with the image of Tsar Ferdinand I, located at the base of the lighthouse. It was placed in 1903, when the Port of Burgas was officially opened in the presence of Tsar Ferdinand. The lighthouse's location amidst the sea and port facilities makes it an interesting tourist attraction and a popular spot for walks and photos. A visit can be combined with a stroll through the Port Complex, the Sea Station, and the Burgas Bridge.
